Beehiiv Pricing Changes in October 2026: What to Check

Beehiiv renamed its plans to Free, Lite and Pro in October 2026. Here are the dates that matter, what is still unclear, and a quick check before your renewal.

Beehiiv has renamed its plans and changed its pricing. Per its own announcement, Launch is now Free, Scale is now Lite, and Max is now Pro. New customers get the new pricing from October 1, 2026. Existing customers move at their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026.

If you publish on Beehiiv, that second date is the one to write down.

What changed at Beehiiv?

The plan names changed first:

Old name New name
Launch Free
Scale Lite
Max Pro

Enterprise keeps its name. The free tier still covers up to 2,500 subscribers, according to Beehiiv's published plan details.

Paid plans scale with list size, so the price you pay depends on your subscriber count. Trade press has reported creator pushback on the increase, and some coverage says Lite costs more at around 10,000 subscribers.

What are the new prices?

Here we have to be careful. Third-party write-ups that we read give different figures for Lite and Pro, because some quote monthly billing and some quote yearly billing. One roundup mentions Lite at $139 a month for 10,000 subscribers, while another source says Beehiiv's own page showed lower numbers with yearly billing switched on.

So we will not repeat a number here that you cannot verify. Open the pricing page, move the subscriber slider to your current list size, and toggle monthly and yearly billing. That is the only number that counts for your budget.

What should you do before your renewal?

  1. Find your renewal date in your billing settings. If it falls on or after November 1, 2026, the new pricing applies from then. Reports say annual plans keep their rate until the current term ends, so confirm yours.
  2. Check seats and limits. One report says Pro is now capped at 10 seats (it was unlimited) and Lite at 2 (it was 3). If you share your account with a team, confirm this against the plan comparison.
  3. Price your list in 12 months. If you expect to double your subscribers, check the next tier as well. The jump matters more than today's price.
  4. Compare, don't panic. A price rise is a reason to look at the alternatives, not to move in a week. Our Substack vs Beehiiv vs Ghost comparison lays out the fee models side by side.

Is it worth switching?

Only if the maths changes your decision. If you earn from sponsorships, compare the fee increase with what one sold slot brings in. If you earn from paid subscriptions, a percentage fee on another platform could cost more or less than flat pricing, depending on your revenue. Run both numbers.

If you sell sponsorships, you can reach advertisers directly through Woodander Market. For more guides on the tools behind a newsletter, see writing and newsletters on Woodander Media.

As of October 2026. Check Beehiiv's pricing page for current numbers.
