Ghost 6.69 adds automation analytics and site exports
Ghost 6.69.0 shipped on October 7, 2026 with automation analytics and self-serve site exports. Version 6.70.0 followed on October 13 with a Settings redesign.
Ghost released version 6.69.0 on October 7, 2026. It adds automation analytics and self-serve site exports. A week earlier, version 6.68.0 added member location maps in Admin.
What changed
- Automation analytics arrived in 6.69.0. The release notes give the title only, so check your Admin for what it reports.
- Site exports are now self-serve.
- Fixes include Unsplash search no longer returning results for partial search terms, heading markup no longer appearing in social web previews, and top sources links working again for sources such as GitHub.
- Labels added during a member import now show on the member in Admin, and Portal initializes correctly when theme links are malformed.
- Version 6.70.0, listed on October 13, adds navigation URL suggestions and a redesigned Settings sidebar, and removes Ember from the codebase.
Why it matters
Newsletter owners live and die by knowing which automated emails work. Analytics for automations gives you that without a separate tool. Self-serve exports matter for a different reason: they make leaving easy, and a publisher who can leave at any time is a publisher who can trust the platform. That is a point in Ghost's favor.
What to do now
- Update, then open the automation analytics and note a baseline for your welcome email.
- Run one export and store it somewhere safe. A backup you have never tested is a hope, not a backup.
