HubSpot Partner Program Changes 2026: What Agencies Face
HubSpot now charges $400 a month for partner membership, ended Providers on August 15 and adds a sourced-points rule in 2027. What it means for agencies.
HubSpot has turned its partner program into a paid membership. As of October 2026, agencies need a $400 a month Partner Program Membership unless their own HubSpot subscription spend covers it, the Provider tier ended on August 15, and a sourced-points rule starts enforcement in January 2027. If you run an agency or hire one, here is what changes.
What changed in the HubSpot partner program?
According to HubSpot's 2026 entry and tiers policy for Solutions Partners and its published timeline, four things matter:
- Membership fee. From July 15, 2026, partners must buy a Partner Program Membership at USD 400 per month, both to enter the program and to meet eligibility requirements.
- Fee waiver. HubSpot waives the fee when a partner's net product subscription (after discounts) is at or above USD 400 per month. The deadline for current partners to reach that spend was June 15, 2026.
- Provider sunset. The Provider program closed to new joiners on February 25, 2026. On August 15, 2026, remaining Providers who had neither upgraded their subscription nor bought the membership were set to be terminated, with commissions ending immediately.
- Performance rule. Solutions Partners must keep more than zero sourced points over a trailing 12-month period to stay in the program. Enforcement starts in January 2027.

HubSpot's own policy page is internally unclear on the contract term (it mentions both a six-month limit and annual renewal), so read the order form before you sign. Tier-point thresholds also vary between summaries, so check them with HubSpot before you plan around them.
Who does this hit hardest?
Small and mid-sized agencies that resold HubSpot lightly. A shop with a handful of client portals and low software spend now has two options: pay USD 400 a month in membership (USD 4,800 over 12 months), or actually run enough subscription volume to qualify for the waiver. The Provider route is gone. Pay by the month, but check the term on your order form.
The sourced-points rule is the quieter one. As we read it, it favors agencies that source business, not just service existing accounts. An implementation-only shop with zero referrals will have to change how it sells before January 2027.
Is this a sign of where platform programs are going?
Partly. Martech's look at how Salesforce and HubSpot are reshaping partner programs, published in March 2026, says both vendors are tightening their programs toward fewer, more specialized partners. Salesforce, for example, cut its consulting tiers from four to two. The fee is our reading on top of that: HubSpot also wants the partner to carry some of the cost.
For agencies, that makes partner status less of a free badge and more of a line item. You should be able to say what each tier earns you in leads, margin or access.
What should agencies do now?
- Check your standing. Confirm whether you meet the waiver or are paying the membership, and which tier you sit in.
- Model the cost. Add the membership to your cost per client. If it eats the margin on a small account, reprice or drop that account.
- Track sourced points. Find out how many you have and what earns them before the January 2027 check.
- Diversify. Don't let one vendor program decide your revenue. Build skills across two or three platforms.
- Tell clients. If your partner level changes, say so before they find out from HubSpot's directory.
What should founders hiring an agency do?
Ask a HubSpot agency whether it is a current Solutions Partner and what its tier is, but don't stop there. Tier is a vendor metric, partly based on revenue. Ask for client references, who will work on your account, and who owns the portal. Our guide to choosing a marketing agency walks through the full vetting process.
If an agency suddenly changes its pricing, it may be passing the new program costs on to clients. That isn't wrong, but you are entitled to hear it explained.
FAQ
How much is the HubSpot Partner Program Membership?
USD 400 per month, from July 15, 2026. It is waived if the partner's net product subscription is at least USD 400 per month after discounts.
What happened to the HubSpot Provider program?
It closed to new joiners on February 25, 2026. HubSpot's timeline set August 15, 2026 as the date when remaining Providers who hadn't upgraded or bought the membership would be terminated.
What are sourced points?
HubSpot uses them to track a partner's sourcing activity. From January 2027, Solutions Partners need more than zero over a trailing 12 months.
Does this affect what I pay as a HubSpot customer?
HubSpot's documents describe partner costs, not customer pricing. Ask your agency directly whether its fees changed and why.
