Canva ProSuite and Affinity 3.3: What Changed

Canva launched ProSuite in mid-September 2026, bundling Affinity, Cavalry, Flourish and Leonardo. See what is free, what costs money and who should care.

In mid-September 2026, Canva launched ProSuite, a professional lineup that connects Affinity, Cavalry, Flourish and Leonardo.Ai with Canva itself. Canva says Affinity and Cavalry stay free, while the business bundle is aimed at teams. If you're a founder choosing design tools, the free part is the story.

What is Canva ProSuite?

Canva's announcement describes ProSuite as a set of connected professional tools, with Affinity, Cavalry, Flourish and Leonardo brought together for the first time. Launch coverage puts the scale at more than 100 new features across the four apps.

The apps are not merged. Coverage from the launch says they remain separate, independently downloadable programs for now, with deeper links between them planned over time. Think of ProSuite as a shared roof, not one new app.

What is free and what is paid?

This is where it gets practical. Based on Canva's own pages as of October 2026:

Tool Role Cost per Canva
Affinity Vector, photo and layout editor Free
Cavalry Motion design Free with a Canva account
Flourish Data visualization Check Canva's ProSuite page
Leonardo.Ai AI image generation Paid add-on, not free

Canva's ProSuite page for business covers the business side, where Leonardo.Ai is a paid add-on. Coverage also notes Canva dropped Leonardo.Ai Essential as a built-in plan benefit. Canva's AI features inside Affinity need a paid Canva subscription, according to launch coverage. One Canva FAQ line about Leonardo reads differently from the other pages, so check the current pricing page before you budget for it.

What is new in Affinity 3.3?

Affinity 3.3 shipped with the launch. Press coverage highlights a long-awaited Blend tool, scripting and a large photography update, and Cavalry animations that can soon be edited inside Canva. Integration is uneven: some connections work today and others are still described as upcoming.

Should a startup switch?

Our take: you probably don't need to switch anything today. If you already live in Figma or Canva for UI and social images, ProSuite adds little. If you pay for a desktop editor only to make logos, export SVGs and lay out a PDF deck, a free Affinity is worth a one-evening test.

A quick way to test:

  1. Download Affinity and rebuild your current logo as vectors.
  2. Export SVG and PNG, and open both in your browser and slide tool.
  3. Check that your fonts load. Free fonts from Google Fonts are a safe default for a new brand kit.
  4. If anything breaks, you've lost an evening, not a subscription.

Two caveats. Free today is not free forever as a legal promise, even though Canva says it will keep core tools free, so keep your source files in open formats such as SVG. And the AI parts need paid Canva access.

If you're collecting tools, browse the Design & Creative category and the Discover directory for more options.
