Discover new places to reach your audience.

Start with free matches from the curated directory today. Research beyond it — tailored discovery of publications, newsletters, podcasts and communities, and where similar projects are already present — is planned.

Free matching runs without an account. “Set up my research” signs you in and opens the research setup in your Workspace — research isn’t available yet, nothing runs, and the website you typed is kept.

AI researchSoon

Will look beyond the directory for opportunities that fit your project, then check what it can observe.

  • Discovery outside our inventory
  • Scoped to your types, regions and languages
  • Source pages checked, evidence labelled
  • Plain-language reasons, never scores
  • No promised number of results

Methodology

How a research run will work

  1. 1 Understand your project and competitorsFrom public pages and your edits; suggest relevant competitors you confirm or remove.
  2. 2 Check the curated directoryKnown opportunities first, so findings aren’t duplicated.
  3. 3 Discover candidatesSearch the open web through an authorised external search provider.
  4. 4 Fetch public source pagesLook for guidelines, form URLs, requirements, costs and language.
  5. 5 Label evidence and rankBy relevance, freshness and source quality. Speculation stays labelled as a lead.
  6. 6 Review and actSave findings as resources, turn them into actions, draft pitches and keep the history.

A run may take a while and continue in your Workspace in the background. There’s no guarantee of new results, working contacts or acceptance.

Competitor discovery · Soon

See where similar projects are already present

Research will suggest relevant competitors — you confirm or remove them. For each one, it will look for publicly verifiable presence in directories, newsletters, communities and publications, and show the gaps where you aren’t listed yet. Each gap can become a saved resource and an action.

Only public, observable mentions with a source and checked date. No private data, no traffic estimates, and a competitor’s presence doesn’t mean the same route is open to you.

Evidence & trust

What each label means — and doesn’t

  • Source page checkedWe fetched the page and saw relevant information. Not an endorsement.
  • Submission route verifiedA real public submission or contact path was identified.
  • Open — evidencedExplicit “currently accepting” language or a date was observed. It may still change.
  • Owner reportedSubmitted by the operator; not independently verified.
  • Needs recheckOur last evidence may be stale.
  • AI research leadA plausible suggestion that hasn’t been confirmed.

We show the public source and checked date wherever possible. AI writes explanations and draft pitches — it never invents contacts, citations or results, and never guarantees publication.

What is AI outreach research?

A structured way to find places where your project could be featured, discussed or submitted — newsletters, publications, podcasts, communities and directories — and to check what each one actually asks for. AI helps classify and explain candidates; the evidence comes from public source pages.

Static directory vs fresh opportunity discovery

A directory is fast and reliable for known routes, but it can’t contain every niche or time-limited call. Fresh discovery finds new candidates, at the cost of more uncertainty — which is why every finding carries an evidence label.

How to evaluate a newsletter, podcast, pitch or community

Check topic fit, audience and language separately, read recent content, and look for explicit guidelines. For communities, read the self-promotion rules first. A reachable form isn’t proof that submissions are open.

What sources can’t prove

A public page can’t prove an editor’s interest, a confirmed placement or any effect on search rankings. Treat every finding as an opportunity to evaluate, not a promise.

AI Research questions

Is the directory free?

Yes. Browsing the curated directory and matching your website against it are free.

Do I need an account?

Not to browse or match. Research, once available, will need a free Woodander account (Google or email and password).

Is AI research different from keyword research?

Yes. Keyword research is about search queries. Outreach research looks for publications, communities and submission routes where people could discover your project.

Do you automatically contact publishers?

No. You review every finding and send messages yourself, from your own email or the publisher’s form.

Do you guarantee placement?

No. Publishers decide independently. We don’t promise placements, responses, traffic, backlinks or rankings.

How will results be verified?

By fetching public source pages and labelling what was observed — route verified, guidelines located, open call evidenced, needs review, or unverified lead — with the date checked.

Does this replace Market?

No. Outreach covers free and editorial opportunities. Guaranteed paid sponsorships are listed in Woodander Market.
